When breaks no longer restore energy

Persistent exhaustion can involve poor concentration, reduced tolerance for demands, inner agitation, irritability, or emotional emptiness. Some people remain physically tense even in quiet moments and find it difficult to reach a restful state.

Prolonged stress can also aggravate sleep problems, muscle tension, digestive complaints, or cardiovascular symptoms. New or persistent physical symptoms require medical assessment.

Regulatory processes that may be involved

The autonomic nervous system manages the shift between activation and recovery. With chronic strain, activation may remain high even when there is no immediate demand. Rest periods can then feel less effective.

The initial appointment considers symptoms, the course of the exhaustion, sleep, and current care. Appropriate measurements can help identify physiological responses that may be suitable for training.

How neurofeedback and biofeedback are used

Biofeedback can display breathing, muscle tension, or heart rate variability. You practise recognising physical activation and influencing it deliberately. Neurofeedback uses real-time feedback from selected EEG activity.

Training is adjusted to current capacity. The aim is not to push through exhaustion, but to support a more reliable shift between demand and recovery.
